    • MAYSVILLE, GA. - Mary Jane (Slay) Duncan, 61, of Maysville, Georgia, died unexpectedly Monday, May 13, 2019 at her home.

      She was born May 20, 1958 in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mabel (Valentine) Slay.

      A graduate of Cambridge High School, Mary Jane worked at various jobs and spent most of her life as a housewife. She was a voracious gardener and was greatly admired for her knowledge of flowers and the beautiful gardens. She grew many orchids and had many friends in the orchid community. She also was an avid reader, a watcher of soap operas, and loved her cats. Mary moved to Georgia when her husband was transferred with NCR. She had many friends who will miss her wonderful sense of humor.

      She is survived by her husband, Forrest (Bub) Duncan, of the home; two sisters, Becky Moore, of Readyville, TN. and Connie (Steve) Mehaffey of Cambridge; two brothers, David (Peggy) Slay, of West Lafayette and Chuck (Jane) Slay of Breman; and many nieces and nephews.

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy (Slay) McWilliams.

      Little-Ward Funeral Home of Commerce, Georgia was in charge of arrangements. Cremation has taken place.
