    • George V Mezzetti, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2014. He was born on October 31, 1925, in San Antonio, TX to George Mezzetti and Gina Beghe Mezzetti.

      After moving to Austin he attended Stephen F. Austin high school and graduated in 1943. Upon graduation he attended Texas A&M University, in College Station, TX. He was called into service with the Navy during WWII. After military service he attended the University of Texas, School of Mines, in El Paso, TX. Finishing his degree with a Bachelor's degree in business at the University of Texas, in Austin, TX in 1951.

      He started his career in the tile and terrazzo business in Houston, TX at Martini Tile and Terrazzo, as an estimator in 1956. After moving to Austin, TX in 1963, he opened a tile and terrazzo business, later merging with C.L. James and forming the company Acme Tile Company, retiring in 1988.

      George was a sports enthusiast, avid hunter, golfer, and lover of dogs. Even though he did not graduate from Texas A&M University, he was a BIG Aggie at heart.

      He is preceded in death by his mother and father, George and Gina Mezzetti and his niece Gina Mezzetti.

      George is survived by his daughters, Carla Gregson and Martha Euwer and their mother Noami Ippolito. Grandchildren Laura Gregson Leka, Tyler Gregson, and their father, Scott Gregson. Jennifer Euwer, Kimberly Euwer, Paige Euwer, and their father Bryan Euwer. Brother Jack Mezzetti and wife Jody and their children Mark Mezzetti and wife Theresa Ann, Jack Mezzetti Jr, Bob Mezzetti and wife Leigh Ann, and Phil Mezzetti and wife Sally Brantley. Numerous cousins and his dear friend Jann Swearingen.

      The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel.

      A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at St. Mary's Cathedral, 203 E. 10th Street. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

      Serving as Pallbearers will be Jack Mezzetti Jr, Bob Mezzetti, Phil Mezzetti, Bryan Euwer, and Scott Gregson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Gregson, Mark Mezzetti, Rudy Massari, Frank Macaluso, Vic Shackelford, Bobby Snowden, and Domingo Olivera.

      The family gives special thanks to his friends at the Summit at Westlake Hills for their loving care of our father, with special gratitude to Donita, Carmen, and Allewia and Heart to Heart Hospice.

      In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Texas A&M University and Meals on Wheels.
